△In the world of military building blocks, the exploration never stops. Recently, I had an in-depth experience with 12GO’s modern tank model, the KF51 Panther, whose barrel molding and impressive accuracy left a lasting impression.
![]()
△Now, attention turns to 12GO’s World War II series. This series not only features meticulously crafted tanks but also includes beautifully detailed minifigures, sparking jokes among fans: “This is basically buying minifigures and getting a tank as a bonus.” For military block enthusiasts, third-party minifigures often cost a fortune, ranging from tens to hundreds of dollars. However, the minifigures in 12GO sets have excellent printing quality that rivals premium figures. Today, let’s dive into the first release of the WWII series—the Panzer IV medium tank. This image shows how 11 different molded parts are used in a single tank. So, how does the Panzer IV hold up? Out of curiosity, Max is here to take you on a virtual assembly journey. Let’s go!

△The box front features a sleek black background with a striking rendered image of the product. On the back, the rich details and internal design features are showcased, giving players an early glimpse of the product. It’s clearly marked with 1,419 pieces and dimensions of 27.5 × 12 × 11 cm (approximately 1:28 scale), providing a clear sense of the product’s scale. Notably, while the modern tank series offers dynamic functionality, the WWII series currently focuses on fully static models with all printed pieces and included minifigures. Opening the box, the sturdy cardboard interior provides excellent protection, like armor for the bricks, ensuring all parts remain intact despite rough shipping.

△The set contents are divided into three major steps, neatly organized. The instruction manual is carefully packaged in its own bag. Opening the manual, the detailed introduction to the tank’s components feels like a miniature tank encyclopedia. It even includes tutorials for beginners. While not everyone may read through these pages, the thoughtful inclusion deserves praise.

△What stands out most is that all three currently available WWII series sets feature fully printed parts. The instruction manual includes a dedicated page listing all printed parts, making it easy for players to verify and organize. The manual is bilingual (Chinese and English), with clear instructions and step-by-step page references. For instance, Bag 1 corresponds precisely to pages 2-10, with detailed, bilingual assembly diagrams—truly player-friendly on a global scale.

△Assembly begins, and a minor issue arises: Bag 1 handles the entire chassis build, requiring nearly 800 pieces. This makes finding parts and managing workspace somewhat challenging. It’s recommended that the manufacturer split the chassis into smaller sections—typically, 300-500 pieces per step—to improve the building experience. For a 1,400-piece set, dividing it into 4-5 major steps would be ideal. Players should also note that printed and regular pieces are mixed, requiring extra attention during assembly (a few pieces have minor burrs). The road wheels are exclusive to 12GO, and precise alignment and secure fitting are crucial. At Step 8, ensure the hole faces right during installation.

△The idler wheels and drive wheels are integrated into a panel, with parts clearly labeled as M004 in the manual. The shells are made of gold-plated pieces, showcasing a metallic finish. At Step 29, interference issues may arise; simply trim one side of a 1x1 smooth tile with a knife to resolve this. The treads involve repetitive assembly, with 57 pieces per side (114 total), which can feel tedious but is an essential part of building tank models.

△This tank features a fully detailed interior, including a gearbox and engine. While it lacks quick dynamic-static switching functions, players like me, who prefer static models, will appreciate the beauty of its structural accuracy. The vehicle body incorporates clever curvature designs with limits to ensure stability.

△The exterior uses a modular design, allowing quick access to the interior in seconds. The German tank turret basket is a standout feature, with its full, mechanical aesthetic adding significant appeal to the model.

△The minifigures are displayed in 360 degrees, along with their weapons. Each figure is printed on all sides with clear, detailed patterns, and the dual-color weapon printing even mimics wooden textures—an impressive level of detail.

△The cannon’s elevation angle is shown in the image—it could almost double as a self-propelled artillery piece! All four front doors can open, and the secondary machine gun can move freely up and down, offering great interactivity.

△The spare treads, custom secondary weapons, observation ports, and accurately molded idler and drive wheels all highlight the tank’s faithful replication of its real-life counterpart.

△Additionally, there are cross-pattern transfer stickers exclusive to the Chinese market on the left side and rear of the vehicle, adding unique branding. The engine compartment features two opening doors, and the turret includes three hatches for players to explore the interior.

△Placing the minifigures inside the tank breathes life into the model, recreating a collaborative crew scene.

△The fully modular design makes accessing and playing with the interior easy. The turret basket maintains excellent mechanical aesthetics and is proportionally balanced with the tank body.

△Lastly, pairing the tank with a small urban battle diorama adds a creative touch. Although the street scene (1:50 scale) doesn’t match the tank (1:28 scale), it sparks imaginative scene-building ideas.
*In conclusion, I highly recommend 12GO products. Their exceptional value allows players to own high-quality military building sets without spending a fortune. With outstanding display effects, high accuracy, and beautifully detailed minifigures, these sets breathe life and storytelling into the models. According to the brand, there are three product lines: Modern Series, WWII Series, and Collectors Series. The WWII Series features fully printed parts and minifigures, while the Modern Series offers dynamic-static switching. I haven’t tried the Collectors Series yet, so I can’t comment. Players can choose based on their preferences, and with affordable pricing and stunning designs, 12GO is undoubtedly a rising star in the world of military building blocks. If they improve their part quality further, they’ll be perfect. I look forward to seeing what this brand achieves in the future.
